Touchdown
The highest single-play score, earned when the ball crosses into the opponent's end zone.
A touchdown is worth six points and happens when an offensive player carries or catches the ball while in possession inside the opposing team's end zone.
After every touchdown, the scoring team gets a chance to add extra points: either an extra point kick (a short field goal attempt worth one point) or a two-point conversion, a fresh play run from near the two-yard line.
It's the most exciting moment of any game, and usually the highlight of every recap.
